Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet
Renters Rights Act 2026 fine for landlords not providing information
Landlords who fail to provide the required information to tenants under the Renters' Rights Act 2026 could face a fine of up to £7,000.
This requirement applies to all tenancies, not just new ones, and must be complied with by 31 May 2026. Failure to provide the correct information, in the correct format and on time, may result in civil penalties being imposed by the local authority. The Information Sheet must be given in the exact PDF found via the Government’s web page, and it must be provided to the tenant by either printing a hard copy which is posted or given to the tenant by hand, or sent electronically as an attachment via email or text message to the tenant.
